Reigning Aryna Sabalenka Wins Consecutive WTA Player of the Year Honors.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive year.
The 27-year-old won four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Season of Consistency
Across the season, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the whole season as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.
This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.
Historic Statistics
Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a 63-12 win-loss record, and collected a historic eleven million pounds in tournament winnings.
She received nearly eighty percent of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.
Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a new level".
