Over a fortnight following the shocking loss of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones continue to honor the couple.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he only now felt prepared to express about his personal sorrow.

"Adequate time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, saying that his introductory moment with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started spending more time together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared never-before-seen clips from the film, adding that he doesn't recollect "one day without mirth".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes wrote.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a distinct piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he comprehended the human predicament of his character," Scorsese noted.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

In a new development, a Los Angeles court official ruled to prevent the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate put a embargo on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a record listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
